Being avid hunters ourselves, my son and I had a number of European mounts done over the years. In 2004, we purchased a starter colony of beetles so we could do our own. We got everything set up in our garage, and before long, friends and family started bringing us their heads to be cleaned and whitened. It didn’t take long for it to become very obvious the garage wasn’t the best place for the beetles, and a small home of their own was purchased. By 2006, the requests to have European mounts done increased enough we decided to make a small business out of it and became licensed by Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks as Bone Head Skull Works. (According to particular friends and family members, the name seemed to fit in many ways.)
Not satisfied with the cookie cutter plaques, we started making our own and no two are exactly alike. In 2016, we expanded our business to include hydro-graphic dipping. This gave us the flexibility not only to customize trophy skulls and plaques, but to provide the service of customizing so much more; firearms, archery equipment, and auto & ATV parts are just a fraction of the possibilities.
